Interior designers: "How to accessorize with DutZ glassware"
As an interior designer, you have many options available to style a room, it can be overwhelming at times. Vases, bowls, and glassware are always a good choice to spice up a decor. The DutZ Collection has over 1000 different items at any one given time. That is a lot of options and choice: colours, sizes, shapes and even textures, these all matter when picking the right vase, bowl, pot, or art object. You can opt for a matching set of cylinder vases, a single centrepiece design vase or one of the limited-edition glass objects.
Below are four things to consider:
- Colour
- Objects that matter
- Go natural
- Keep it alive!
Do you need some inspiration on how to style with glassware from DutZ, read on!
Colour
One of the most essential things to consider in any interior design is the colour. Whether this is a minimalist grey/white interior or maybe you want to splash out in brightness and sparkle. The good news is: "Colour is the least expensive thing in the home". The sun shines for free and creates all the colours we can imagine. However, to create a colour pattern that fits with our wellbeing at home is a very individual matter. Fortunately, the DutZ Collection has a choice of about 15 distinctive colours and within each of those ranges there are many shades as well. Plenty of choice to play around with.
DutZ has divided up its collection in helpful colour segments. read all about these here
And here are few of our colour suggestions with DutZ glassware
Go Scandi design colours
Go all greys, whites, and smoke in a minimalist Scandi design decor. Keep it functional, keep it minimalist, but still emulate a cosy feeling at home. This can be done with hurricane and barrel vases to use as candleholders or use a single centrepiece sleek white vase as an eye-catcher on a table. The DutZ collection always included vase designs that match the popular Scandi look and colour scheme. It is simple and sleek, but at the same time playful and attractive in its elegance. Check out some of the Scandi looking designs below.

Objects in Scandi design are functional, but beautiful. Just like this Robert vase in Smoke

The wow factor in this decor is the Robert 2.0 vase. A very large centrepiece vase that is gorgeous, functional, and minimalist in its simplicity.
Contrast with colours
Contrast is an effective way in interior design to accentuate your accessories. It works simple; the eye catches the object that stand out from the background. Think of a red stripe on a grey wall, the red surely stands out. How does that work with accessories? Well, for instance, put a bright jungle green vase in a white/green minimalist design. It will add balance to your design and captures the attention of the viewer. It can be done very minimalist and natural: use bright yellow lemons in grey interior decor. Or just add a very small colourful candle votive to the composition to accentuate the designs
A little dash of green mixed with smoke vessels to create some lightness and playfulness
One vessel in full contrast with the others just to add some balance to the picture and it matches very well with the branch with berries
The bright yellow lemons create playfulness in this setting that would otherwise be very grey and monochrome.
Play around
Have Fun! Play around and brighten up the interior. Blaze it with colours! Mix and match styles, designs, shapes and enjoy the playfulness of the creation. Fit pairs of vases together that have different heights, or group together designs that are complementary, yet slightly different. The DutZ Collection is perfect for this kind of style. Many designs are available in similar colours and can therefore be put together to create a beautiful decor. Or you can mix and match colours that accentuate each other – greens and blues, or reds and orange. Enjoy!
All matching yet a set of very different designs create unity and still add to the playful lines of this display.

Objects that matter
Although Marie Kondo has recently admitted that she has stopped tidying up, we totally agree with her vision that items in a decor should have meaning: “The question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life.” - Marie Kondo. That is why we only work with artisan mouth blown glass. Every item is made by hand with dedication by a master glass blower and a team of assistants. There is no short cut to this, it is an ancient old craft and works the same way as when it was invented thousands of years ago.
From the smallest candle votive and tealight candleholder to the tallest centrepiece floor vases; every single item is hand made. Have a look at our art object vases. Some of these are limited edition vases created by well-known artist glassblowers. Others are part of our regular collection but are marvels of design. These objects matter in an interior design and they will give meaning to a space.
This Sabina vase is a unique limited edition art object. It is a sure eye catcher.

Go Natural
The greatest beauty is powered by the natural world. It is a source of inspiration, a source of marvel and will have a place in any interior design. Glass is a natural product. In its basic form it is melted silicone sand, then add some coloured minerals and you will get a beautiful effect. Humans have known this for a long time and glass objects have been part of our decorations since ancient history. Even today, in this day and age of the digital world, we are still desperate to connect with natural materials: wool, cotton, stone, glass, sand. You will never go wrong in an interior by adding glass objects. So, add a glass vase to your dresser, put a hurricane candleholder on your outdoor patio table or a bunch of votives in your windowsill. Clear glass is the perfect way of achieving a natural look. Clear glass looks organic and blends in with its surroundings. And when used as a candle glass the glass will enhance, reflect, and refract the shine of the light, which give a natural shimmering glow in the interior.

Keep it Alive
Did you know that glass is not a solid material? Even though, it may feel solid and strong, it is a material in between a liquid and a solid! It is very, very slowly moving. That does not make it alive, but it certainly gives glass a unique and beautiful property that is very natural and organic. That is why glass remains one of the chosen materials in interior design: it is timeless and creates a space that is breathing and energetic.
DutZ makes vases, pots and vessels and there is no greater joy for us to see these filled with flowers and plants. They give a space even more colour, vibrancy, and liveliness. A floral bouquet can transform an interior design to a space filled with joy. Of course, these can be natural flowers and foliage, but nowadays silk flowers and faux flower bouquets are a huge development too, they certainly look lifelike.
